"This is How We Do It"
Each member receives a book of the format "This is how we do it". This is information about the chapter, hostess schedule, "saying", songs, poems, tea etiquette, recipes, chapter roll call, royal titles, chapter history, RHS history, RHS vows and pledges and pictures. Each member has a booklet with her royal title and picture on the home page.
Makeover Queen (IT) worked diligently to get this off the ground. She designed the format, decorated with Red Hat clipart and other items, red and purple ink on every page, and sorted all copies. This is each member's personal "history" book for keeping chapter important information. Information is updated as needed.
New Member Induction
New member(s) has an induction ceremony to include, stating a pledge, prayer and receiving sample Sassy Red Hat Chicks items: logo, booklet with history, something "red hat", temporary name tag (until the official name tag has been purchased), hostess calendar, phone tree, and picture of the ceremony and then the "right hand of fellowship". New members are by special invitation referred by a current member. The current member will be the "mentor" for the new member.

Secret Pal Reveal

1. Thou shalt use thy Red Hat powers for good deeds
(bring joy and laughter to all you meet).
2. Thou shalt eat thy favorite foods, including chocolate.
After all, diet is just a four letter word.
3. Thou shalt be a kindred spirit in your sisterhood.
Keep your confidences and friendships strong.
4. Thou shalt put on the glitz! Wear purple glory, big red hats,
flashy jewelry, and feathers: be a Dame!
5. Thou shalt play. Be young in heart and mind
and your body will follow - at least most of the time!
6. Thou shalt welcome the curious and explain the
wonders of Red Hat to all who ask,
especially small children and handsome men.
7.Thou shalt accept the things you cannot change, big or small.
We're good at rolling with the punches.
8. Thou shalt aspire to anything in life at any age.
It's never too late to skydive.
9. Thou shalt honour thy age and the need to be a little bad.
10. Thou shalt repeat the first nine commandments,
over and over and over.
